2006 series of prints ‘Norwegian Cycle’
The ‘Norwegian Cycle’ was created during my visit in Trondheim, Norway, in 2006. Individual observation of non-traditional Nordic landscape gave rise to the following artistic project: why not reject the idea of showing the pictures of colorful Norwegian fiords and focus instead merely on the expressivity of form and line?
The ‘Norwegian Cycle’ is permeated with the contour line reminiscent of the horizon of mountains and perspective seen at the distance. However, this can only be recognized when the composition of a work reminds us of the motive of a mountain seen once.
Nature has a tendency to create movement using painterly means, whereas I use graphic means instead such as natural material-related properties of a cliché and demure graphic elements.
